Rocky Hill Ranch

The first road-trip for the Tejas Trail Nerds was full of fun and good times, but unfortunately not a lot of trails...

Rocky Hill Ranch was canceled shortly after the start secondary to a dangerous storm cell that moved through the area. Smithville had been the recipient of about 12 inches of rain with a high amount of lightening strikes and even a few tornadoes.

An email from Joe Prusaitis explained that the roads had been washes away and he was still unable to get his equipment out from the trail. He has dubbed Rocky Hill with a new name... Hell's Hills.

This is the road leading to the trail head...washed away!

A rescheduled run has been set for June 6, 2009. Check the Tejas Trails website for details.

Doesn't he look happy!!?

Camp Awesome!
Regardless of how much we were able to run or not able to run, CAMP AWESOME was a great experience and set the precedence for many future adventures!

I read Race Director's post while looking up the race web site last Saturday night. I am sorry you had the event cancelled out from under you, but it looks like you found a way to have a good time anyway.

I am now considering running the Hell's Hills on June 6th myself, although I'll probably only run the 25K.

Looks like the 'Nerds know how to have a good time! Too bad the race got canceled...I can't believe they still ran the 10K.

Sounds like a good weekend for some new racing (or lack thereof) experiences for sure!
